Sports Connect is now a PlayMetrics company, and its own Little League page says leagues will move to PlayMetrics starting with the 2027 season. If your club is looking at its options anyway, here is an honest look at Sports Connect and Team Boss.

Where things stand
Sports Connect is registration, website and league software for local clubs, leagues and governing bodies, and has been Little League's technology provider since 2016. It joined PlayMetrics in June 2025. Its Little League page says: "Beginning with the 2027 season, leagues will manage player registration, league operations, and volunteer management in PlayMetrics."
Team Boss covers registration, payments and payment plans, tryouts, schedules, team chat and attendance for youth clubs, with coaches and families working from the same club record on their phones.

How Team Boss is different
Independent
Team Boss is its own company, built by a club owner for club owners, not one product among many inside a larger group.
One club record
Registration, schedules, payments, rosters and messages read from the same record, so a paid player is on the roster and in the team chat without anyone copying a list.
No subscription
No setup fee and no monthly bill. Founding Member clubs get the platform free for 90 days, and the only charge is a 1.09% fee on payments they take through Team Boss, plus card processing, locked for the first year.
How to move from Sports Connect

- We move your families. We load your families and players into Team Boss for you, with guardians matched to their kids.
- We set up your programs. Together we rebuild your programs, prices and payment plans, and you connect your bank through Stripe.
Team Boss does not sync with the Little League Data Center. If your charter requires that sync, check with your league before you switch.

No. Team Boss runs in the phone browser at teamboss.app, so families sign in from a link and can pay, register and message without an app store download. The Team Boss mobile app arrives in December 2026.
